Looking at “The River Nobody Knows,” I’m really proud of how this piece came together entirely from my imagination. There’s something special about creating a landscape that exists nowhere but in my mind … this hidden canyon that no one will ever hike to because it only lives on canvas.

The name really captures what I was going for. This is a river that flows only in my imagination, cutting through rocks that I shaped with my brush, reflecting light that I chose to paint there.

It’s my own private wilderness, painted into existence. Every time I look at it, I can almost hear the echo of water against stone in this canyon that nobody knows … because nobody can know it. It’s mine alone.
