Looking at "The River Nobody Knows," I'm really proud of how this place came together entirely from my imagination. There's something special about creating a landscape that exists nowhere but in my mind - this hidden canyon that no one will ever hike to because it only lives on canvas.
I loved building this secret world where the light pours through those towering red cliffs in just the way I wanted it to. The way I imagined it, this would be the kind of place you'd dream about finding - that perfect hidden oasis where the water rushes over smooth stones and the canyon walls glow like they're lit from within.
The name really captures what I was going for. This is a river that flows only in my imagination, cutting through rocks that I shaped with my brush, reflecting light that I chose to paint there. There's something magical about that - creating a place so real-looking that people might wonder where it is, even though it's nowhere at all.
I had fun with the colors, letting those warm oranges and reds dance against the cool blues of the water. In my imaginary canyon, the light hits exactly how I want it to, and the water flows in perfect little cascades over rocks I placed just so. The scattered boulders and desert plants all exist exactly where I thought they should be.
It's my own private wilderness, painted into existence. Every time I look at it, I can almost hear the echo of water against stone in this canyon that nobody knows - because nobody can know it. It's mine alone.
